Laura Pawlik, American painter, b. 1967
The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows it to realize its supreme purpose through him. - Carl Jung
Laura Pawlik is a visual author of a memoir of dreams.
She began painting her dreams in 2010 after joining a Jungian dream group. She became passionate about researching and studying her dreams, like an archeologist carefully uncovering one layer after another in order to understand the meaning of the dream. Her paintings have a voice. They tell a story about the artist's unconscious life. Her dream inspired paintings are often centered around family ghosts. Her hauntingly beautiful paintings touch on topics that effect all of us.
Pawlik's paintings have been exhibited in the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings Montana, The Cape Cod Museum of Art, Atelier of Santa Fe Gallery, Denver, Colorado and various other galleries throughout the states. She has been featured on All Aboard the Dream Train Podcast and winner of the 2020 Athena Arts Project contest.
